History and Governance

Ezekiel Rain started with two families passionate to see justice come forth among trafficking survivors. As the families met and prayed, a vision was birthed that saw people delivered from slavery, fully restored within families, and changing nations while living as sons and daughters of the King.

After a year of preparing, two scouting trips, lots of counsel and establishing a 501c3 in the U.S., we landed as Ezekiel Rain in Thailand in February 2010 to lift Jesus high and serve the precious people of the land. Ezekiel Rain was recognized as a Thai Foundation in August 2012. We opened our first restoration home in October 2012 and received our Thai certification as an anti-trafficking organization in October 2014.

We are governed by a board of directors (7 members located throughout the U.S. and Thailand) and we have a field team in Thailand composed of Thai nationals, foreign volunteers and the ER founders.  Additionally, we have a Thai board of directors (5 members) that oversees our foundation in Thailand.

God is using me to be able to take His Word that gives life and pour into others to bring healing not just to those we work with, but people outside of work, in my family and in our community who I see and encounter.

why ezekiel rain?

Our name is taken from Ezekiel 34:25-28 in the Bible and paints a picture of our prayer for all who have been exploited and abused.

“I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild beasts from the land, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing. And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them. They shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the land devour them. They shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid.

Our name in Thai is ครอบครัวพร้อมรักษ์. It means to prepare or equip families to be places of healing/restoration/love.

how we communicate

We know that the issues of trafficking and sex slavery are hot topics and ones that generate a lot of interest and a host of emotional responses. There are many images, stories and statistics that sensationalize and sometimes even perpetuate exploitation, often unintentionally. Therefore, we continually evaluate our motives and intent regarding the stories and information we share with others. Ezekiel Rain chooses to honor well the people and work we do through our communication and actions. We commit to ethical, truthful storytelling that protects the confidentiality, safety and integrity of those we serve.
