A lot of people can't imagine it, but Joel Karum (CEO of Ezekiel Rain) is running 124 km (about 77 miles) through the mountains of northern Thailand starting Friday, October 18 at 11:00 pm and finishing on Sunday, October 20, 2019 in the Singha Ultra-Trail Chiang Rai 2019 race.
We are proud of his dedication, discipline and desire. It is much more than an ultra trail run to Joel, it is a way to intercede, raise awareness, model endurance, help others see what is possible, renew his mind and raise money for the projects of Ezekiel Rain.
Joel is hoping to raise significant funds over the next few days to support our 2020 project operation budgets for our four external projects: Restore, Resilient Families, Roots and Rekindle.
Much like our work here in Thailand with vulnerable families, trafficking survivors and at-risk communities it is about putting one foot in front of the other and not quitting! We are committed to the work ahead and so is Joel. Please cheer him on with your prayers and consider giving a tax-deductible gift today.
Post-race update:
Joel finished!!! One step in front of the other and he finished 124 km with grit, determination and joy. He even did several extra kilometers because he got lost one night!
Watch the video below to hear Joel’s comments post-race and also hear his invitation to come run with him in next year’s Singha Ultra-Trail run in Chiang Rai, Thailand to help us run for freedom and restoration!
During the race people generously donated $3090 to 2020 projects so we still have $1910 to reach our goal. If you would like to give a tax-deductible gift to help support our work in Thailand at any time, press on the button below as the race campaign will end on October 28, 2019.
